CLUBS AND SOCIETIES
The Dean of Students receives a proposal to start a club/society from any member of the Institute. On receipt of the proposal, the Dean of Students in liaison with the Principal reviews and approves it within a week.
In approving the proposal, the reviewing officers considers the following;-
a) Viability of the proposal
b) Resources needed to start and run the club/society
c) Strategic plan
In the event of disapproval, the Dean of Students inform the proposer with reasons thereof. On approval the Principal appoints a patron for the club/society and inform the appointed member of staff.
In appointing the club’s/society’s patron the Principal consider the following:-
a) Proposed activities of the club/society
b) Other responsibilities of the member of staff.
On appointment, the patron in liaison with the proposer request interested students to register as members of the club/society. On registration of members, the Patron in liaison with the proposer convenes a meeting with the registered members, to elect officials and adopt the proposed constitution of the club/society. On ensuring that the club/society has met all requirements, The Dean of Students then record it in the club/society register and ensure any external registration if any is carried out. The patrons ensures that the clubs/societies operate under their constitution and submit a termly progress report to Dean of Students.
